IS Google dying?

Posted by admin On April - 23 - 2009

At least that’s the phrase that I have found that better reflected the sentiments of many bloggers and readers today. The words of the title does not refer to any of its important services to fail again, or if they were made to tweak Youtube. No!

If you are aware of events within the blogosphere and have read posts that talk about the new mind tool that Google Adsense is still in beta (though we no longer know what to call beta at this time), just released from the blog Google official said that where:

As part of a beta test, over the coming months we will begin to offer advertising in interest to a limited number of advertisers in order to extend the offer for 2009. If the goal of an advertiser is to increase the public perception of a brand or stimulate reactions to advertisements, these features can help expand the success of your campaigns and your profits increase as does the involvement of advertisers.

To develop the categories of interest, identify types of web pages that users visit surfing the AdSense content network. For example, if you visit many sites of sports, will add to the category of “amateur sport”.

Google has begun to dominate everything, we may monitor or maybe, just maybe, the future of the Internet with a Googlezon leads to our destruction or complete dominance.

What we must remember is that Google is no longer the standard bearer for Web 2.0, angel with wings that we freed from tyranny incandescent (and even non-existent) of Bill Gates and Microsoft. Its free services are becoming increasingly invasive, with Google Chrome (in open quarrel with Firefox), Google CheckOut with its customers for Paypal.

New License: Creative Commons Zero

Posted by admin On April - 20 - 2009

CC is now launching a new license without restrictions of any kind: Zero Creative Commons.

This license allows the user to the creator of the work to offer the general public, giving you (the public) control over it, without bidding for it

The person associated with this work he has devoted his work to the Commons waiving all rights to the work under copyright law and all legal rights related to the extent permitted by law.

This license is intended to close the gap left by those papers that are left open to the general public and which the author does not want any control over it.

Until the day I met Stallman, founder of GNU, I asked him if something was helping and his answer was: Yes, do something. Not sounded very convincing, but in my personal opinion, I consider being a vital step to believe in the rights of a kind creations web and digital.

This blog is licensed under a CC.

The Pope comes to Youtube

Posted by admin On April - 16 - 2009

The Vatican has opened a dedicated channel on YouTube. Now the Pope’s voice will be strongly present in the web, or at least that’s the idea, but think what is in view of the videos as Two Girls, One Cup (do not put the link, too, if you have seen it you will know what I mean).

What I find really positive is that at least heeded him to the bishops that the Vatican wanted the voice of the Pope in the iPhone to have more presence on the Internet. And each time was higher both archbishops geeks.

On the other hand I doubt that people are interested to see the Pope make his comments, and hope to make mistakes, but in truth I say unto you: Did you come to see religious Youtube videos ? One who does so will it be saved?

Reduce Firefox memory consumption

Posted by admin On April - 10 - 2009

Firefox is an excellent web browser, since it has a decent number of advantages to consider, but not perfect and can get others to consume memory. Luckily there is a way to fix it.

What does free up memory Windows is normally assigned to an application if it is minimized, but Firefox has this option disabled by default, unless you apply the new settings.

Firefox usually does not consume memory rest, but will do so after prolonged use of this application to browse the internet, and whether we are using multiple tabs.

The steps to follow are:

1. The first thing we will do is to enter the mode of our Firefox, for this in the address bar, type the following: about: config, then Enter to confirm the message that tells us we must be careful when modifying the configuration.

2. Unless you’ve done before this particular change, so you should do is create a new value (right click on an open area) of type Boolean (New> Logical).

3. In the window that appears, enter config.trim_on_minimize and then select True in the box below.

4. Close your window config about: config window, restart Firefox and go.

You’ll see the speed on your desk to minimize Firefox has increased substantially about before, you have not had to increase RAM or buy high technology equipment.

If you want to read something more about this setting in the trim_on_minimize, you may need to check this link Mozilla Knowledge Base.

On the other hand may not be what you want and want to return to your previous configuration, this only re-enter the configuration mode and the filter element to search by name (config.trim_on_minimize) at the top, then right click and change its value to False.

Britney on the web

Posted by admin On April - 1 - 2009

The pop singer has released her personal website www.britneyspears.com some time of days ago and since this is not a blog on the subject except that now we have Britney in the increasingly large world of Twitter.

That’s right, Britney Spears, the singer who was just placed in the top 1 (brutally jumping 96 places) of the Billboard Top100 your song Womanizer is released now to conquer your twitter account http://twitter.com/therealbritney .

Now may arise and how we know is that the Twitter account of this girl? Well simple, we have a video of it introducing its website and in which there is a direct link to her Twitter account.

Follow Britney. Nor will excite them to believe that Britney responds because I doubt that I walk all day glued to the machine, so it could be an assistant  or something but that will have updates from Britney, and have them officially.

As you can see in FRIEND BRITNEY tab on her website, this girl has realized the enormous potential of the network and has embarked on the conquest of other networks, not just Twitter, like Facebook, Myspace, etc..
